Our story, from a desk job to concrete
I spent years at a desk job before I realized I wanted work I could measure and stand on at the end of the day. I learned concrete working under an experienced contractor, and in 2017 I started Complete San Carlos Concrete here in San Carlos. Most of our calls come from homeowners and property owners whose driveway, patio, steps or slab has cracked, sunk or started pooling water, and they want it done right this time.
I care most about measurements and prep, because concrete gives you one chance and the mistakes set with it. The subgrade, the packed ground the slab sits on, gets buried on day one, so it's the first thing people want to cut from the budget and the last thing I'll cut. I'd rather tell you a job isn't worth doing than sell you something that won't hold up. You can see the work we take on from our home page.
What you get when we take your job
These are the things you'll notice on a job with us. We're fully licensed and insured, and in California an active license from the state licensing board covers the kinds of work shown on it.
One person from measuring to the pour
The person who measures your job stays with it through the pour, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the finished concrete. If the ground turns out different once it's dug out, you hear it from the person who measured it.
An estimate you can compare line by line
Your estimate is written out item by item, so you can see exactly what's included. That makes it fair to hold up against other bids, and it makes a bid that skipped the base work easy to spot.
You know the plan before the truck arrives
Before the pour, we explain where the control joints go, which are the cuts that give the slab a planned place to crack, and when you can walk and drive on it. Curing, the slow hardening that gives concrete its strength, takes time, so we tell you when to stay off it.
The mess stays on the job
We contain the slurry and the truck washout and clean up as we go. That keeps the mess on the job site and out of the street.
What to expect from first call to finished slab
Every job follows the same four steps. Price and schedule mostly come down to the size of the job, how much old concrete comes out and how much work the ground needs, and you'll see all of that in writing.
Call or send the form
Call (650) 866-1977 or send us a note through the contact form, and we'll get back to you within one business day to set up a time to look at the job.
I come out and measure
I usually come out myself to look at the job and take measurements. I check what the old slab is sitting on and where the water runs, because those two things decide how the new one holds up.
Get your written estimate
Your estimate is free, done on site and comes with no obligation, with the work spelled out in writing. If the job needs a permit, we settle with you who will pull it and write that into the contract before work starts.
We form, pour and finish
Our crew does the forming, pouring and finishing, and I check the work as it goes. That way the slab comes out square, level and pitched the way we measured it.
